Lindsey Holcumbrink


Lindsey B. Holcumbrink is a native of Gower, Missouri. She received her undergraduate degree from Missouri State University (B.S., magna cum laude, 2007). Lindsey worked in agricultural lending and compliance for seven years prior to attending law school. She received her law degree, magna cum laude, in 2016 and her Master’s of Law degree in taxation, in May 2017, both from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. Lindsey and her husband, Chase, reside in St. Joseph with their daughter, Brenna, and son, Jackson.

AREAS OF PRACTICE

Lindsey focuses her practice in the areas of estate planning, probate law, and elder law. Lindsey also assists the firm’s clients with business and commercial law, employment law, and real estate transactions.

Lindsey is licensed to practice law in the states of Missouri and Kansas and the United State District Courts of the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri.

EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS AND RECOGNITION

Lindsey received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Business, magna cum laude, from Missouri State University in 2007.  After working in agriculture lending and compliance for seven years,  she decided to pursue her law degree. She received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, in 2016 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Lindsey also received her Master of Law degree in  Taxation at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in May 2017.

While in law school, Lindsey was a member of the UMKC Law Review and Urban Lawyer. She was also selected to be a law school emissary, and served as Co-Presidentof of that organization in  2015. Lindsey was a teaching assistant in the lawyering skills program for two years and was a member of the UMKCABA Negotiation Team, competing at the national competition. Lindsey also competed in the American Bar Association Law School Tax Challenge, where she received Top Written Submission and third place in the oral competition, overall.

Lindsey was selected as the recipient of the Myron E. Sildon Excellence in Estate Planning Award and the Association of Corporate Counsel – Mid America Chapter Corporate Law Prize. She also received CALIA wards (highest grade in the class) for Business Planning, Real Estate Transactions, and Lawyering Skills, II. Lindsey was also selected as the 2017 University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law Outstanding Tax Student.

Lindsey is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the St. Joseph Bar Association. She is the current Vice President and former Treasurer of the St. Joseph Bar Association. Lindsey is also a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Lindsey graduated Valedictorian from East Buchanan High School in Gower, Missouri, where she was very active in the FFA, and went on to earn her American FFA Degree.

Lindsey and her family live in the St. Joseph area and are members of Central Christian Church. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and volunteering at her children’s school.
